Machine Learning Engineer / Researcher
Join a YC-backed AI startup building AI-powered CAD tools for mechanical and hardware engineers. As the key ML hire you'll own the full lifecycle of machine learning systems — from research and data pipelines to production deployment.
💰 Salary: $110,000 - $175,000
📍 Location: San Mateo, CA (Onsite preferred, open to Bay Area candidates)
⏰ Type: Full-Time
🎓 Experience: 4+ years font.
What You'll Do
- Design, train and iterate on custom deep learning models for CAD workflows
- Build and maintain Python training and evaluation pipelines
- Architect model serving and backend components
- Work closely with mechanical and hardware engineers to translate workflows into ML formulations
- Own ML features from research through to production deployment
- Stay current on relevant ML research and apply it pragmatically
What We're Looking For
- 4+ years of hands-on machine learning experience
- Expert with PyTorch — comfortable implementing custom architectures and training loops
- Strong Python engineering — clean, production-ready code
- Experience owning ML systems end to end from data to deployment
- US citizen or valid work authorization required
- Background in geometry, CAD, robotics or 3D representations is a plus
